jump rope activity

Is it possible to create a jump rope activity ? It seems even the latest CIQ SKD doesn't provide it according to the documentation.

But on the web dashboard you can create jump rope activity. Even the offical garmin app does not create a jump rope activity. I opened the fit file displayed as rope. It seems it is sport 84 which does not exist in the documentation.

If anyone know about it please share ! I m bit too lazy to reverse the whole stuff and i m not even sure I could create the correct fit file using the sdk.

I think the jump rope activity type only arrived to a few beta firmwares yet. Let's hope that Garmin didn't forget about this and it'll be added to the next SDK release. Until then probably there's not much we can do

Have you tried Garmin's CIQ app for Jump Rope? https://apps.garmin.com/apps/cab001b5-034c-4acf-8572-ca640800b7a2

It's not available for all devices, but most of them back to the fenix 6 series

What does it show in Garmin Connect for the sport?

You can also look at the FIT SDK https://forums.garmin.com/developer/fit-sdk/ and I think the profile.xlsx is where you can see all the numbers, even for things that aren't defined in the CIQ doc.

THe question is if we can use numbers from the fit-sdk even if they are not yet added as constants to the CIQ SDK

It's been done in the past but type checking might throw a fit, and you can turn that off

@jim, the jump rope apps from garmin does not create a jump rope activity.

Thx for answers, I ll give a try with your hints.

EDIT : The activity 84 does not seems available. But i didn't develop in monkey c for a while and I just realize that even if it was possible it would be garbage since we can't populate defined fit field like repetition. I m surprised it is still not possible. 3rd part apps are not clean because of that.
