Menu2 question

You could use a CustomMenuItem and add your logic to the draw() method (which ofc assumes that draw() won't be called until the item is actually displayed on the screen). Big downside ofc is that you would have to handle drawing the item yourself, which is extra work and which means your menu items wouldn't work like native menu items where text may automatically be reformatted/resized/truncated depending on the currently available screen width or other factors (e.g. on older watches, the currently focused menu item's text is typically slightly larger/bolder.)

Yeah I already Thought of this solution, but for the exact reason you mentioned i hope there is another one…

I starten experimenting with this approach. Only issue with CustomMenuItem on modern devices (like my 265) these menuitems Only look nice if you draw them in the same height as the normaal menu items. (Like menuitem or it’s subclasses). The Only think is I don’t know all the default heights on all devices

do you mean the height of the screen? or the height of a font?

dc.getHeight() should return the height of the display region of your device. You could store that in a variable and draw things relative to the height and width of the dc.

example:

var dw = dc.getWidth();
var dh = dc.getHeight();

dc.drawText(dw/4, dh/4, font, text, just);

no i dont mean the default height of the screen, but the default height of a default menuitem. 

But i need to use the CustomMenuClass. And that one you initialize with a custom height.  after that dc.getHeight() just reports the number you initialized the class with. 

So what actually what would be the value in you did dc.getHeight() in a standard MenuItem class, but that's not available if i use the custommenuitem class...

to add a bit more context: i want to use all the features of the custommenuitem class, except the height, that should remain like a default class...
