Any way to know watch is supporting Red Shift Mode?

I monitor the APIs pretty closely for new stuff, and I haven't seen anything yet.

On watches that support it, is really red, orange, or green shift, and an app doesn't have to do anything differently, so no API to check it's state and no API to change it's state. 

You turn on one of them, and everything is that color or a shade of that color, and off, the colors are normal.

Not sure if that is normal, but on my Epix 2 I draw error messages as text in color COLOR_RED, and when in Red Shift Mode these texts become invisible. Especially if other watches shift to other colors, it would be nice to have a way to avoid that all these colors become invisible. 

I also think it would be useful if there was an api to query this settings. In some apps (i.e: Wordle: https://apps.garmin.com/apps/3430778e-6fee-4eb6-b799-21d9d59a41eb ) colors have an important role. I even added a color blind more. So knowing this setting would enable the app developers to use a palette that better suits the app logic.

I'm not sure how popular this shifting is, but there are a number of things the user can do, such as setting it for between sunset and sunrise, or only during configured sleep times.

On devices with hot keys, you can set up one to toggle the shifting on/off so if you are using an app that's hard to use with the current shift color, you can easily turn shifting off while an app is running

No, it's actually about how to deal with shifting and understanding how it works. Things you don't see in the sim.

Shifting can turn on and off while an app is running.

And what can be used by any app on the device, including native ones.

I think flocsy is being sarcastic, considering that you originally said that apps don't have to do anything special to handle red shift mode, and now you're saying that the user can easily turn off red shift if an app doesn't play nice with it and giving devs advice on "how to deal with shifting and understanding how it works".

Basically a total 180.

Clearly red shift has an effect on some apps if you concede that some apps are hard to use with red shift, that it's significant that the user can turn it off while the app is running, and that devs should understand how it works and how to deal with it. Originally the narrative was that red shift doesn't matter to CIQ apps.

The next step is to admit that it would actually be useful if a CIQ app could query the current state of the red shift mode...
