SOLVED - User Error! was: Problems displaying multiple custom fonts in MIP devices

I've been using a custom font for icons for quite some time with no issues. Now I've added a second font for a different set of icons and they work find on all OLED devices and on Fenix 6 MIP devices but not on other MIP devices, including the Fenix 7 :)

The behavior is the same in the sim and on real devices so it seems "intentional".

Is there some limitation on the number of custom fonts that can be loaded at a time on some devices?

If this is in the sim, try deleting the bin folder for the project and rebuilding. Sounds like you're using a cached version of something. I have watch faces with 5 different fonts and they work fine.

Tried that already.

Also, as mentioned, it does the same thing on the real devices.

You can run into things on devices with a graphics pool. Try rebooting the device to start with a clean pool.

You want to get things working in the sim as a first step.

Thx. Yeah, there is something fundamentally not right with the new font given it behaves the same on the sim and real devices.

I create both fonts using BMFont with the same parameters/options so I'm stumped.

It is also strange that I get no errors. dc.drawText() simply does not draw the font on some devices!

Are you sure the xml for the fonts/devices/resolutions are correct? Nothing is displayed on some, or do you see a box? You'll somethings see the box if a character isn't in the font. Did you hand modify the fnt files where you could be referencing a blank part of the png?

I get nothing, not even the "missing character" box.

I didn't modify the fnt files.

I tried creating the fnt files using a built-in Windows font and got the same behavior. So, it does't seem to be an issue with the original font.

I also tried reordering the font loading sequence and that didn't have any effect so it isn't an issue with the last loaded font (no surprise since it should just work).

Solved... I'm an idiot. Was drawing to the wrong DC which is why it worked on devices that don't support partial updates... that was the clue...

Thanks for helping me eliminate all sane reasons for it to not work.
