Some Garmin watch faces have VO2 Max as a data option. However, I can only find VO2 Max Bike/Run in the APIs (in UserProfile).
Is there an overall/generic VO2 Max available?
What is Garmin showing on their watch faces?

There’s no generic VO2 Max as running and cycling VO2 Max are completely independent of each other and calculated in different ways. You won’t find a generic VO2 Max in the Connect app or website either, except that running VO2 Max is sometimes just referred to as VO2 Max.
However, the value displayed on native watchfaces and glances may vary between running and cycling based on certain factors:
As for me, I’m a runner and I don’t bike except for the occasional indoor cycling activity. I do have a cycling VO2 Max because I once accidentally left my Stryd paired as a power meter during an indoor cycling activity. I’ve never seen my cycling VO2 Max displayed as the “default” VO2 Max on any watchfaces or glances, but I don’t know if that would change if i actually started cycling more than I run.
Thx for confirming what I'm seeing.
In my case, the Garmin watch face is definitely not showing either the run nor the bike VO2 Max. Seems odd that we don't seem to have access to that value. I've had several customers ask for it but it seems I'm SOL...
Hmm, weird. No idea what’s happening there.
