Access to configured pressure units?

Is there a way to access the watch configuration for pressure units, assuming the watch has a pressure sensor? I don't see to be able to find that anywhere.

Cheers,
Douglas
  • I just use temperatureUnits for this, as there is no setting for pressureUnits.

I do this is three different apps, as so far, no one has complained, as the two kind of go together..
  • Okay, glad I wasn't missing something.

That's too bad there's no access to that setting though. I'm using the temperature setting right now as suggested but it's a bit more problematic in aviation where, in North America at least, temperature is typically in Celsius but pressure is measured in inches of mercury. But I'll make do.

  • You could just use app-settings to define the units in that case. Or use temperatureUnits for the temp and elevationUnits for the pressure..
  • I've created a ticket to have us look at adding these units to System.DeviceSettings.
  • Thanks Kyle!

If you're entering new tickets anyway, might I be so bold as to ask for one for the "Vertical Speed" units also? Not sure if it's a D2 Bravo only thing or if it's also on the Fenix 3 (and derivatives) but that would be a nice-to-have also.

  • We have a request for vertical speed entered. I'm not sure when it will be available, but it is on our radar.

Perfect. Are there any thoughts on an API endpoint for access to watch specific information, if available. In my case I'm specifically thinking about access to the D2 Bravo "Nav Data" but I presume that there may be other instances of this, if not now then potentially in the future as Garmin develops more activity-specific watches.
