Eclipse Problems... can someone help ?

Today I found that several of the Run Configurations that I've used to test my code on various watch models, had stopped working.

They reported an error like index out of bounds.

I looked at the Run Configurations and found that they listed NO options for minimum API level.

In an effort to solve that problem I looked for updates to the ConnectIQ plugin for Eclipse, found updates, and installed them.

Now.... Eclipse does not indicate that it has the ConnectIQ plugin available at all, and does not recognize my project.

I've looked for the Eclipse plugin to reinstall and cannot find a link to it, and cannot find it in the Eclipse Marketplace.

I understand that support for Eclipse is / was going away, but can anyone help me get going again ?

Eclipse isn't supported any more, and some of the newer devices may not work with it at all in Eclipse.

Time to switch to VS Code.

Thanks Jim.

It was the Fenix 6 Run Configurtions that were problematic.

The newer devices worked without a problem and the SDK manager recently downloaded SDK 6.2.1

I'm concerned about startup time while switching to VS Code so if there's a way to get eclipse going again it would be great to I can get work done over the next few days.

The "index out of bounds" might be related to having a device in your manifest that you've not downloaded or a newer one that the eclipse plugin doesn't understand.. Try creating a new run config.

Do you still have things like the System5 and System6 preview devices in your manifest? Those were probably removed from your system as they are no longer valid.

At this point Eclipse doesn't show the ConnectIQ plugin at all and doesn't recognize my projects.

This occurred when I applied the available updates to the plugin using "Check for Updates" and selecting the 2 items related to ConnectIQ.

The last Eclipse plugin was 4.1.2 (quite old). I tied the "check for updates" and got this error:

Looks to me the Garmin removed the plugin and it got removed by eclipse as a result. VS Code may be your only option.

Can you recommend a good step-by-step tutorial on moving from ConnectIQ on Eclipse to VS Code ?

I have VS Code installed, the Monkey C Extension installed and verified and I've used File -> Open Folder to open the folder that contains the project files that Eclipse was building from. Now comes the hard part.

Any idea what I have to do to get back to the point that I can build my project and run all of the models that I support on the simulator, and do a build to upload to the Garmin App Store ?

Any links you can point me to would be appreciated.

I'm already looking through what's on the forum but it could take a while to find what I need.

Ok, I just tried "install new software" in eclipse, hit the "add" button, and developer.garmin.com/downloads/connect-iq/eclipse, and got 4.1.2 back installed. I may only be a short term solution. Today was the firt time in months I've run eclipse.

I don't recall much general info from Garmin about using VS Code, with idea being there was plenty on the web about VS Code in general.
