Settings page for data fields

I want to have a setting page for my data field apps.
I added "resources/resources.xml" to my project.
When running with the simulator I can see the setting page from "Edit Persistent Storage -> Edit Application.Properties data".
I can change the value there and my apps will see the new value, etc. so it looks good to me.
I then sideloaded the app to an Edge 840 by adding the .prg file to Garmin/Apps directory.
When I looked at the apps from IQ Apps(Android), I don't see the option for a setting page. I only see the button to uninstall. On apps that I downloaded from IQ store, I see the settings button next to the uninstall button.
Am I missing something? Or is it because it was sideloaded, if so how can I test before submitting?

Yeah, settings are unavailable for sideloaded apps. You can test your app's settings by uploading it to the store as a beta, which will only be available to you. As the Garmin documentation points out, you will need to use different UUIDs for your beta app and your production app, since there's no way to convert a production app into a beta app or vice versa.
