There was an issue recently reported about errors when attempting to install apps from the web store to Edge 1040: https://forums.garmin.com/developer/connect-iq/f/discussion/337703/problem-with-datafields-and-edge-1040-since-sdk-6-2-0-is-out.
After some investigation, we discovered that the minimum firmware version set in the device configurations for Edge 1040, 840, and 540 were incorrect, so attempts to install any apps built with the most recent device configurations (released around the same time as the 6.2.0 SDK) would result in an error message stating the device firmware must be updated even if the device already had the latest firmware.
The device configurations were updated today to correct the error, but developers with affected apps must still do the following to fully address the problem:
- Download the latest device configurations for these products with SDK Manager
- Build & export the affected apps using these new configurations
- Upload new versions of your apps to the app store
