I want to set my own lap notification , how can I do that?

I have impelmented a DataField of my own and I want to have a function that to show the average time for one my own defined lap distance in the datafiled. I know I can set the lap distance value via the watch , but it seems not convenient to some guys. Therefore I hope my DataField to have a default one.

In a data field, you can't set your own lap distance. It uses what's set for the activity when recording the fit and you can't over-ride that. In a device app, you can use addLap() for the session.

Thanks a lot. You said "you can tell when a lap has happened with onTimerLap()". Would you please explain the detail preocess of it? Or does ti mean that once I set a lap distance via the real watch, the onTimerLap() event will be triggered ?

If you have a onTimerLap() function in your data field, it will be called each time a lap is recorded in the fit file. It can be the result of an auto lap, or manually pressing the device's lap button. In the sim, when running a data field, clicking the device's lap button will do it too. The sim also has an auto-lap of every mile.

Here's one of my data fields in the sim. The blue dot is the start, the two orange dots are where I triggered a lap by pressing the lower right button on a 965 (the second one at 0.12 miles), and the 3rd orange dot is the auto lap at 1.12 miles (one mile after the last lap) The green box is my current location. All of then are noted when onTimerLap() is called.

I got what you have mentioned. BUT, I click on the button lap , it does not work.

I clicked on the lower button in the sim window for the device, but just tried the lap button you indicate and that works too. Try setting a breakpoint in onTimerLap() instead of the println(). I've seen println calls get "lost". Are you looking in the debug window in VS C? Try removing "private" as it really isn't.

What device are you simulating?

I tried adding "private". That's what's messing you up.
