How to answer encryption question on Apple App Store submission?

Hi there,

I'm looking to submit my companion app to Apple's iOS App Store for review. My app uses no encryption (besides the exempt HTTPS). However, Apple asks this question when I upload my app: "What type of encryption algorithms does your app implement?"

The options are:

Encryption algorithms that are proprietary or not accepted as standard by international standard bodies (IEEE, IETF, ITU, etc.)
Standard encryption algorithms instead of, or in addition to, using or accessing the encryption within Apple's operating system
Both algorithms mentioned above
None of the algorithms mentioned above

I'm not sure exactly how to answer this question, as I'm unsure what's going on within Garmin's SDK framework (maybe the framework uses encryption).

Has anyone else dealt with this before, or does anyone have some advice for this problem?

“None of the above” appears to be your answer (based on “my app doesn’t use encryption”).

I think the motivation is to discourage people from using nonstandard encryption if they are using encryption.
