SDK 4.2.1 profiler in alternate time dimension?

Did the profiler for 4.2.1 go off the rails? onPartialUpdate used to take 11ms, now takes 108ms. Loaded same code from 4.1.7 days onto my watch, second hand still works fine so probably not the code. onUpdate takes three times longer, setPalette takes 73ms when I'm not using a custom one. On the plus side formatting a double now only takes 0.007 us (yes, 7 ns).

And it appears there is no going back:

ERROR: Device 'fenix7x' requires an SDK version of 4.2.0 or greater to be compiled. The current SDK version is 4.1.7. Please update your SDK using the Connect IQ SDK Manager.

How do I go back to 4.1.7?

For onPartialUpdate, you really want to use "View Watchface Diagnostics" in the sim. The profiler probably doesn't understand how that part of the code actually works.

At least the exec time in watchface diagnostics was in the same neighborhood to as the onPartialUpdate time. Now they are across town. 72.7 ms vs diagnostics time of 9.6 ms. If I can figure out how to go back to 4.1.7 I could give better examples.

I am switching back and forth between 4.2.1 and 4.1.7 without problems, maybe try to change the device?

It is a device thing, my FR 235 is fine with both, but suddenly the Fenix 7x which was working fine with 4.1.7 is now no longer supported with 4.1.7 if you have 4.2.1 installed. Must be what I get for not reading release notes.

yes, epix the same and probably all updated devices.

I had to restore data from backup unfortunately, no backup no older devices

4.2.1 = bugs*bugs*bugs + problems*problems => don't install, don't use

and wasting days to do anything running and the end reverting to 4.1.7 and again wasting time to restore backup... I can't find words to describe this situation.

It's the all System 6 devices. With VS Code you have to have a minimum of 4.2.0 for the SDK to use them There's the post in News & Announces, and in the root of every SDK is a README that lists specific changes.

No, because about system X decides not ciq, vc... but firmware on device (I can still build app for epix using 4.1.7).

You need newer sdk only if you want to use new feature from it or if you have installed something e.g. vc extension that force to use bugged unusabled 4.2.1 sdk.

probably right, but some people posted error messages that to compile to some device they needed 4.2.1. So if they want to support these devices then either they'll have to use 4.2.1 or they can maybe try to use the auto migration in the store, but then I'm not sure how can they test if it really works on those devices. Maybe if they own such a device.
