My downloads decreased

My downloads have decreased from about 1000 to 150 in a matter of a few days. What could be the cause of this?

How can the downloads decrease? Could it because they uninstalled the application?

Are you looking at the stats? When you update your app, you'll often see a spike in the stats, as current users are getting the update, then it levels out to what you were seeing before you did the update.

also noteworthy is that the new stats only display the count of system 5 and newer devices, tbh I preferred the old stats that gave the total overview of things.

If you are talking about the only number (and not percent) we still see after they changed the stats screen, that is BTW the same number anyone sees when they look at your app in the app store, then i don't know how and why but i did see certain decreases a couple of times in the past year. But it never jumped that much. Usually i look every couple of days and remember the thousands so when the next time I saw less, then i noticed. But the changes were in the amount of a few hundreds that is like going back 1-3 days. Never more than that. Now it is possible you saw the same and you have 300-ish downloads a day and this is an app you only published a few days ago? Or this 1000 the number of downloads you had after a long period and was increased to that slowly? Because if it's the 1st one then it's still strange, but similar to what I saw. If it's the latter then it's very strange.

I just checked it today and now it's back to mid 750's. It was gradually increasing before, then it dropped to 150 so I was confused. I didn't know how the download could decrease; that was pretty crazy. It would be nice to know how many people are installing it and uninstalling it.
