How to run background process every 1 minute?

Hello, I have diabetes and I use the Fenix 6x pro not only for sports, but also for glucose monitoring. The XDrip app on Android phone updates glucose data every 5 minutes, but now there is a new type of glucose sensor that provides data every 1 minute. I wanted to ask if there is a possibility to run the Garmin API background process every 1 minute? Is there any way to disable 5 min. limit?

Any chance the Garmin developers can reduce this limit from 5 minutes to 1 minute in future updates? :)

onUpdate runs at least once per minute. When seconds == 0 what are you doing that will cause onUpdate to go over it's time limit? Do you need one minute data when five minutes used to be good enough? When they come out with a newer version with 10 second data will you need that? What is the solution that you NEED?

I need to get data every minute via http. In my case, the 5 minute interval is too long. The WF user himself could decide at what interval he wants to update the data, and he would be informed about the battery consumption.

You can do that in a device app, and just do the requests in the main app based on a timer.Does your monitor have BLE? You might want to look at that instead of doing a makeWebRequest.

This is an open source watch face that gets data from the xdrip app every 5 minutes, but I want to tweak it to run every 1 minute. The xDrip app lives on an Android phone and has an internal rest service through which the watch face retrieves data.

So if you have a companion app then maybe you should try to use it to push data once a minute to the watch instead of letting the watch poll once in 5 minutes.

That means using comm. And like makeWebRequest, in a watch faces, that must be done in a background service. So still every 5 minutes at most
