Can you FEEL the Vivoactive HR vibration ?

Ok .. here is my issue. I do intervals. I cannot feel the Vivoactive HR vibration to tell me to switch between walk and run. It makes a lot of noise .. but feeling it absolutely no. Even sitting here at my desk .. I cannot feel it. It goes thru the motions, but effective .. not at all.

Maybe mine is defective .. I doubt it. I wear headphones, so hearing it is not going to happen. My Forerunner at least I can feel. Sadly it looks like I will have to use the Forerunner (a great device but syncing is a major pain with no Bluetooth).
The Vivoactive HR .. does not really vibrate, just makes noise.

    Sorry to hear. I use a lot of alerts and I do feel it.
  • If you are doing the vibrates from CIQ, have you tried changing the VibeProfile?

    Oops .. I posted in the wrong forum. I was wondering where it went. :o:o

    But to answer your ? ... not in Connect IQ app. It does not matter where .. what I have done is made it vibrate multiple times in succession in hopes I have a chance to feel it.
    I hope that will be enough .. but today while testing it, it was very very very faint in the FEEL category. My Forerunner even though the vibrate seems similar .. that one I can feel it.

    For my app .. I am using what you sent me. I understand you can use up to 100 and 8 times which is what I have. I am going to try to go for a test walk tonight to see how it works out.
    I was just using the different vibrate settings in Settings / System. It was still very bad no matter what I chose. I do not care about battery life .. I need to feel it or it is useless to me for intervals. I hope to know more tonight but so far not looking good. :)

    jim_m_58 ... I am looking into if I can find the optimal vibration for my VAHR. I need to be able to feel it.

    I am thinking it is likely the same hardware in the devices .. just different duty cycle and duration that makes the difference.

    I tried ..

    var vibrateDataShort = [
    new Att.VibeProfile( 100, 500 ),
    new Att.VibeProfile( 0, 200 ),
    new Att.VibeProfile( 100, 1000 ),
    new Att.VibeProfile( 100, 500 ),
    new Att.VibeProfile( 0, 200 ),
    new Att.VibeProfile( 100, 1000 )
    ];

    but still I just cannot feel it and that is sitting at my desk. The likelihood of being able to feel it when running .. about zero. So at this point looking for suggestions. I am going to do a hard reset but I really doubt there is anything I can do about it.
  • With the vibate code I sent you, I can feel it just fine on the va-hr, and the same for standard vibrates (I do have "extra long" in settings)

    It could be where and how tight you are wearing the watch, or it could be something with the vibrate motor in the watch itself (HW problem - contact Garmin)
