Connect IQ is down - no settings

Android Connect IQ app (2.20) : when I enter to the settings of any app/watchface.datafield... there's nothing displayed, only an error. Looks like the backend server is down:

Connection Error
We had a problem loading settings for this device. Try again.

Internet works, even other garmin services work, only this doesn't so the problem is obviously the server.

  • There is also problem with proxy servers  that serve makeWebRequest.

  • It's working for me.  Maybe it was just down a few minutes for  maintenance.  That happens at times

  • Still problem, maybe in US is OK.

  • makeWebRequests are working for me.  The last one was just a few minutes ago,  So maybe everything is fine in the US and the problem is for those outside the US.

  • Settings already runs.

makeWebRequests runs well too but since 2023-01-18 it is handled "slower", maybe it's connected with new ver. of GC or new firmware on some device.

  • Still doesn't work for me in the middle east :(

  • have you tried if it works with garmin express?

  • I didn't have GE because I was using Linux until 3 days ago. I installed it now and I was again "raped" by it and now I remember why I don't want to use it even if I have a Mac...

My app has 4 languages declared in the manifest: deu, eng, heb, hun. The settings are only translated to 3 of them: eng, heb, hun. Because I knew of bugs in GE I also added every string as eng and the default is also English. My Mac is set up with 3 languages in this order of preference: English, Hungarian, Hebrew. Sow why on Earth GE displays my app's settings in Hungarian? And why instead of fixing the bug that it was impossible to choose the default language from the language chooser drop-down they removed the drop-down? Is there no way to test the languages in GE any more?

  • Garmin Express indeed has it's issues with languages, I've got an old bug report lingering about somewhere about that. (The fact that Ge doesn't take the default language and I have to define translations for all my settings in the speicific languages is the reason I don't release Data Lover in a translated form on the main branch, I just don't like the unnecessary overhead in size as it affects loading time and likely also battery consumption to load a bigger prg)

However the fact that it doesn't take some languages is unknown issue to me, have you tried variations of German in regional settings to see if the deu gets picked up?

  • in Windows I had to poke in conf files and replace dll/directory to see GE in different language.

but it's enough to test language in sim, effect SHOULD (but not everybody knows what SHOULD means :-)) be the same.
