Is the watch crashing when you first plug it in, or after you'd copied over a .prg and unplug the watch? If it's when you unplug, I've found that making sure GE isn't running at the time helps, as GE might be trying to update .prg files at the same time or something.

When I first plug it in .. apparently could be a bad cable (others have had the same issue). I have a new cable coming from Garmin. I cannot use GE on this computer, it will not work. I have to sync with my smartphone or a separate computer (for my Forerunner).
