Backlight intensity within widgets (glance)

Hi, I've written a program to show customer information (QR and bar codes) when needed. The app works fine but now I've added backlight(1.0) to have full backlight - the simulator says 100% backlight but I can't see any changes on my Forerunner 955 and the backlight level seems to stay on the default level.

Any idea what's wrong here?

I assume you mean that you display a QR/bar code in the full view of your widget/glance, not the glance view itself.

I have a similar widget for personal use, which just displays a static QR code at all times. It calls Attention.backlight(1.0) as well, but because the backlight can time out or the user can press Light, I call backlight() continuously, once every second, to make sure it stays on.

I use this with a 945 LTE, on beta firmware 7.07, and it works fine for me. This firmware seems to have a lot in common with the current-gen 955 / Fenix 7 firmware, like dark mode for system menus and some of the newer features like training readiness. (This is stuff 945 LTE didn't have before, which is part of what leads me to believe that all of these devices have a common firmware base now.)

But who knows, maybe there's something different about the 955's behavior.

Thanks for your reply, yes I mean full screen mode. Good to know it should (or could) work, I will do some trouble shooting to see if it is my fault or a bug in the firmware 12.27.
