can I change settings in a watch face I downloaded from Eclipse?

Hi, I created a Watch face that I'd like to test myself with my device before releasing it in the connect IQ store. I used the simulator and the app settings editor and it all seems nice but I still prefer to check on a real device. I used the prg file in the bin to use the watch face on my device but I can't change settings for the watch face from the connect IQ app.

I searched here in the forum and couldn't find any discussions about it from the last 5 years. I've seen that I can upload it as a beta app but I heard that there are some problems with it because then you need to change the app UUID in order to upload it again. Is it really my only option or there's another trick?

If you use source control and/or keep separate copies of manifest.xml (one for beta, one for release), it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

I didn't think about keeping separate copies of the manifest.xml , it really makes anything much easier

If you publish as a beta app, and then for production, you can see the AppID for the beta as the first line in "edit details" for the beta version. What I'll do in cases where I might be switching back and forth, I'll also just keep the two app ID's in a comment in manifest.xml. Two copies of the manifest.xml could get out of sync if you add new targets, etc.
