how to implement app settings

hi, if you create a new project with simple settings, you will have a sample of that, or look at the anoalog sample in the SDK

I build analog sample and run it on device simulator. Then entered Ctr+P to open App setting Editor.

I expect the editor shows some setting to change but actually a pop up window says "No settings file found for this app. This app may not have settings". So this app doesn't enable settings.

Could you tell how to enable settings ?

There is something wrong with your setup, as what you are doing should work. Are there any spaces in your pathnames?  

I created a watch face project with settings. Then I could see settings are enabled when I run device simulator and Ctrl+P to open App setting editor.

 And I found resources/settings/settings.xml and resources/settings/properties.xml are the files for the settings.

But "Analog" sample didn't show the settings in App setting Editor. The project doesn't  have two files above. Aren't those files mandatory to enable settings ? 

The Analog sample has on-device settings, where the settings for your watch face or data field are available on the watch itself.

For settings that are configured via the Connect IQ app on your phone (or Garmin Express on PC/Mac), you can look at ApplicationStorage or ObjectStore.

Note that on-device settings is a newer feature which is only available with Connect IQ API Level 3.2 or higher.

Try doing a "new project", select a watch face, then "simple with settings".  Looks like the analog sample doesn't have app settings, though I think it did at one point.
