think you'll find it records hr in OWS

yes but we won´t have laps, swolf, speed,...
  • can you add that hr data swim to the store? even not recording it it´s usefull just to know more or less where am I training

@iseeka - if you press lap I guess you will get an ows lap? I get distance, split pace (speed) when I look at the ows data in sporttracks from last year with my 910. Am looking forwards to my HR for my long slow swims when the water warms up over here.

@RASTIKW: I saw your HR swim data field . Nice !!

So I see how it is also nice for some people to see (but not record) this hr data whilst pool and ows.

in the future does garmin need to turn on a "switch" to allow either themselves or developers to record the hr - or is it more complex limitations (eg fit file format which I vaguely remember someone saying before). to me it is the recording that is of use (to ascertain contribution to training load).
  • That uncertainity of the fit file ability to store the combination of pool swim data and hr data was written by me. As I've read the specification again, there seems to be no limitation to combine "length" messages (information about individual pool length swims) and "record" messages (detailed data). But so far I was not able to get any other party to display such data combination.
As I don't expect Garmin to store it, I'm working on separate HW to do so and subsequently on SW to combine the data. But it will take some time.
