ERA not working

Yes I know there's been a lot of posts on this, but what can I do? ERA has not reported an error for my app for months and I don't believe my app is 100% stable (even though it does not crash in field testing).

I have a justifiably pissed off user who is reporting an app crash (I am trying to get them to send the LOG, but they're not happy!)

Every time I open ERA I get:

When I click the OK button I get an empty panel.

Please, Garmin, what can I do?

Have you asked the user to email you the ciq_log.txt file? That's va-hr. a ciq2 device, which doesn't work with ERA

Yes, as noted, I have requested the log file.

I must have missed the advice that ERA is a CIQ3+ feature.

I still don't understand the "Developer not found" error (the app is widely used on CIQ3+ devices).

Strange, I'm almost sure I've seen era errors from va-hr.

There's nothing in the "Connect IQ Core Topics" documentation (in SDK 4.1.3) about CIQ3, but I do vaguely remember it being mentioned somewhere.

Maybe someone can find the reference?

1) Open VS Code user settings (CMD-SHIFT-P > "settings") and search for "Monkey C"

2) Ensure "Monkey C: Developer ID" is blank

3) Open ERA viewer (CMD-SHIFT-P > "ERA")

4) Select Settings > Manage Developers

5a) If you have a developer set up already, click on it and click the I button ("info" icon) -- ensure the developer ID (*) and developer key are set up

5b) If you don't have a developer set up, add one with the correct developer ID (*) and developer key

(*) To determine your Developer ID:

1) Log in to the CIQ website at https://apps.garmin.com with your dev credentials

2) Click on your dev name on any one of your uploaded apps

3) You will see a list of all your apps - note the URL: apps dot garmin dot com/UUID/apps. The UUID before "/apps" is your developer ID

(Ofc you can do this without logging in, simply by searching for one of your apps.)

It was not blank (contained my email address...why?). I think that might have been the cause of the "Developer not found" error. because once I deleted the entry, ERA opened up without the error.

I wonder what that is all about?

Yes, that was all set up nicely - which is why I guess ERA was taking me to my app.

But it's still not reporting any crashes.

Now that we believe ERA only works with CIQ3+ devices, that will explain my unhappy VA-HR user.

But I'm still surprised that I have no crash reports.

With ERA, you only see logs from crashes with the current version, so only since the last time you updated the store. How long ago was that?

Check IQ file you have put to store it exist debug.xml for devices.
