Execute a external program before build - VSCode

Hi everyone!

I would ask that is it possible to run "something" before start the building the PRG file in VS code?
My plan is generate a .mc soruce file with a other application when I want to start in VS Code. Is it possible currently?

Or need to change the monkeyC extension anyway.

Have you looked at https://code.visualstudio.com/docs/editor/tasks#_custom-tasks? I haven't tried myself, but it looks like you might be able to use the "dependsOn" property in tasks.json to accomplish…
