The device renders these data fields in a different way and it is not possible to run ConnectIQ data fields there without making some modifications to the device firmware. The device team may be planning to remove this restriction at some point, but I am not certain.
It would be a great idea to modify the firmware to allow CIQ field on the Map screen !
Only 2 fields on the map screen is very restrictive... I have written a "rolling" CIQ data field to be able to display alternatively during a few seconds different data (time of day, distance, timer, ...) to get all these data on only one field... It would be really great to be able to use it on the map screen...
I hope that this update will be implemented in future firmware versions of Edge 1000 and Edge 520 !
