Garmin Instinct 2 Solar compatibility with garmin apps (not listed in compatible devices)?

Hey all,

first of all I am not a developper and not so deep in the garmin topic.

I would like to by my first one and really intrested at the Instinct 2 Solar.

One of my use cases should be kitesurfing and I would like to use the Garmin App "Kite Woo+GPS" - https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/53d9c500-614e-4e3a-88b6-9f65bc6a144a
The "Compatible Devices" list is not completed but there isn't also the Instinct (1) listed. I have also written the support of "Woosports" and they directs me to Garmin.

My question is like: Do you think the Instinct 2 Solar could be compatible of API version and hardware specifica or is there something special with it why it shouldn't work?

My first pick was the Forerunnter 745 but like I wrote the Instinct 2 Solar triggers me a lot.

You won't see the Instinct 1 as a compatible device for anything in the app store, as it doesn't have Connect IQ, but you'll see the Instinct 2 for some apps. In order to support the Instinct2…

You won't see the Instinct 1 as a compatible device for anything in the app store, as it doesn't have Connect IQ, but you'll see the Instinct 2 for some apps. In order to support the Instinct2, most apps will require changes, and it isn't just adding it as a target. The current SDK (4.0.10) can be used to build apps for the Instinct 2.

Use "contact developer" for the app you are looking for and see if an Instinct 2 version is in the works. Here's what's in the store for the Instinct 2 right now: https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/devices/instinct2/apps
