will automatic app migration happen so apps support the new devices and about when should we expect it?
Jim, why do you say that? i recall other watches took a week or two after their actual releases to get migrated.
has Garmin officially answered this anywhere? i'm no longer actively developing for connect iq and folks are asking if my apps will support the new devices, so its a little inconvenient for me to re-release, especially if app migration is going to happen anyway.
Why don't you just add the new targets and update the store?
I already said, I don't actively develop for connect iq and it's a several hour process to update the sdk then rebuild and test a handful of apps on various simulated devices.
Why wouldn't there be app migration, is there something fundamentally different with the new devices that might prevent it? From other threads the resolution appears to match the venu2+, so it's likely not that...
auto update often leads to problems anyway which lead to more questions from users.I have deactivated it for all of my apps. if you don't maintain your apps anymore i would tell users exactly this or ignore the questions.
Let's start with that the f7 and epix2 are CIQ 4 level. The f7's are the first MIP devices with that, so they are unlike any other devices. On ciq 4 devices, there are no longer "widgets", but "super apps" instead, and when they are compiled, there are differences. Buffered bitmaps are also different.
With the venu2 and epix2, while the display size is the same, and they are both CIQ 4, there could be other things (font size for example) that make them different.
