Tests on new System5 API (Stress and BodyBattery)

hi everyone,

here is a result of those API test.

I could only test them on Venu2System5 since the F6system5 does not work for me (CIQ level missing)

so the example is incomplete, to get a data you have to add

var bbIterator = ActivityMonitor.getBodyBatteryHistory();
var sample = bbIterator.next();

while (sample != null) {
System.println("BodyBattery: " + sample.bodyBatteryData.bodyBattery); // print the current sample
sample = bbIterator.next();
}

and add .stress for Stress data.

it seems it is the newest sample first and on a Venu2Sytem5, 1 data every 3 minutes.

I guess it may not be the same according the devices.

hopefully the values will make more sense for body battery than for the spo2 history iterator (it's been a while I looked, but at least last time I looked the spo2 history was still very much off on a real device).

anyway good that body battery finally is being added. thank you!

I can confirm that the only SPO2 value reliable is the one from activity, not from sensor.

At this time my BodyBattery Test only shows 0, but on Stress show different data.

Any idea on when the bodyBattery & stress values will be available for releases ?

It's new as of System5/the 4.1.0-beta1 SDK. In the past, there have been up to 3 beta SDKs before it's released, and in this case, there will need to be device FW with CIQ 4.1 or 3.3.

I'd say maybe by the end of 2021 but early 2022 seems more likely to be able to build apps for the store (you can't build an export for the store with beta SDKs)

When 4.0 was announced at the 2020 GDVC, it went GA in March 2021. I suspect end of Q1 2022 is when 4.1/System 5 will get GA.

So until then, we can only simulate the new features in the VCS simulator, but not export them as a .prg and test them on our own devices?

Correct. There isn't any firmware that supports the new stuff at this time. You can only test in the sim with the 2 preview devices.

Since the last update on the Venu 2 - these features should ben made available, correct?

Yes they should be available on the watch, however the SDK is still a beta release, so no developer can release an app to the store that can use these features yet. They can build for a devices and load it locally to test but that is all until the SDK is released to 4.1.1.

Thanks for sharing this SHN! Any idea about Sunrise and Sunset? I read somewhere that they were going to be available on the new SDK, but can't seem to find any info about it on the API docs.
