New to developing - Windows Installtion tips...

Hi,

I am a complete novice to developing. I can read several versions of code as its part of my work but thought about giving this a dabble...

However, I am falling at the first hurdle in the installation for windows... it tells me to create a PATH and to be done in windows NT Shell??? I have searched high and low on the internet for answers maybe someone can give me an idiots tour of exactly how to install and get started...

I recently purchased the Fenix 3 Sapphire and this being the reason I fancied having a shot at developing...

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

If you aren't going to be compiling and running your apps from the command line you don't need to setup the PATH variable. Skip past that step in the programmers guide and you should be fine.

I recently setup a new Windows Laptop and tried a more efficient and easier route, than that of the Getting Started Guide.

What I did was:
- Install Ecplise
- Added the IQ Plug In
- Downloaded the SDK via the SDK Manager

I found this far easier than previously following the guide (which also gets you to download the SDK before Ecplise) as the SDK Manager works better for later updates.

Hope this helps, maybe even a Guide revision.
