Is it possible to disable onUpdate every second and only do it once per minute?

You can't really ignore onUpdate as on some devices the screen is cleared before onUpdate is called. And you can't change how/when onUpdate is called in a watch face.

What you can do is look doing the calculations once a minute and using the results of those calculations each time onUpdate is called.

you could check the time in onUpdate with System.getClockTime and do nothing unless seconds == 0.

What I was rather looking for was to disable high power when watch is tilted. I understand it is not possible in normal mode, but when I switched to power saving mode it did the trick. Now I need to find out how to get tilt to activate light after sunset...

Understand that power saving mode is only available on a few devices.

I've only programmed on the Fenix 6, where the screen doesn't seem to clear, so I only do as much as necessary during onUpdate() and that seems to work OK.

Be very careful of you try to add new targets to your project.  Unless to have the device, things might not go well.
