Developer terms of use and GPS data ?????????

Under "submit an app" in the Connect IQ documentation, there is a line describing one reason that your app may not be approved.

It says "Your submission cannot use GPS data in a way that violates our developer terms of use."

I've looked for information pertaining to GPS data in the SDK License agreement and do not find GPS mentioned anywhere.

I've searched for Garmin Developer Terms of Use and do not find such a document, other than the SDK Terms of Use which I searched for "GPS" and it is not mentioned.

Can someone provide an answer here ?

I see exactly the same on my phone as I see here, which is what you posted in your screen shot.

you have the terms right there, things which relate to gps/position would be primarily in the privacy requirements section

you might also want to read the app approval exceptions which is available here: forums.garmin.com/.../app-approval-exceptions

Here's a screen shot.... no scroll bars, no way to scroll, and much of your answer that is displayed on my phone is not displayed here.

You included the following in your reply:

You represent and warrant that your Application does not default to collect location data about users, that users are notified and required to opt in to allow your Application to collect location data, and that you will comply with the most recent version of the CTIA Best Practices and Guidelines for Location-Based Services, as updated or revised from time to time.

My app uses GPS data in real time but does not store data except storing track in formation in a FIT file using ActivityRecording.createSession(), and the app does not connect to the internet at all. In my mind that does not constitute collecting location data about users. Is that you're understanding of the requirements ?

I have no idea what you want of build, but a good place to look is the app store itself. There are tons of apps with the positioning permission.

You want sunrise/sunset? You need the location. You want weather data, look at the weather apps/widgets, many that need the GPS location and send/receive data from the internet. Activity device apps fire up GPS and that data is in the.fit file that's sent to garmin.
