Why are Garmin comments so demotivational?

Why can such a good product put out such demotivating comments to its users! No matter what I do, no matter how well I run, Garmin knocks it.

If Garmin was a person, it would be called bullying!

Today I had a brilliant comment after my run. My Garmin said that I was being "productive". Ok, so maybe it wasn't that brilliant a comment but at least Garmin wasn't telling me that I was wasting my time like it usually does.

Maybe Garmin could take a leaf out of that book and aim for a more balanced and constructive approach to user feedback. After all, the goal should be to uplift, not put down.
