VMG and Navigation data in App/Datafield

Hello,

i wanted to create a datafield to show the VMG and distance to waypoint in knots / nautical miles.
(A pitty it is not there by default)

Now I don`t find any of the Navigation data in the Connect IQ SDK?

Is there no way to access these data?

Well I have and open case on broken data fields which Garmin acknowledges is reproducible and the have no timeline as to when it will be fixed as it involves many of the new fields like V-dist

As of now VMG is broken and only works going to a single waypoint it will not function even on a simple point to point course which is standard for sailing

The second VMG issue is unlike other devices right now it is very sensitive to watch orientation and does not give the correct speed unless the 12 is exactly held in the direction of travel

Access to the navigation data in Connect.IQ would be great!

We have plans to include several elements of navigation data in an upcoming Connect IQ release. I don't believe that velocity made good will be one of the available values, but this can be calculated with the information we will have available. You should be able to find VMG calculation examples that can be implemented fairly easily in Monkey C.

As you say, the calculation of VMG is not a problem as long as we can get access to the required navigation data.
Looking forward to the next release :)
