Viviactive 3 screen distortion

Evening all

new to Garmin after thinking of venture away from Apple for tracking activities

so, being unsure I have brought a used vivoactice 3. Great condition so looks like it's been looked after. But on turning it on today, I noticed the screen is distorted. It might not affect the tracking but given a watch, sports watch or not, should still be able to tell the time!
so looking at the image attached has anyone had this issue before?
I do have the option to send it back but before I do I thought I'd pose the question!

That looks like a HW thing to me. What you can try is a reboot. Press the button for about 20 seconds and the watch should turn itself off. Then turn it back on.

i will give that a go and see what it's like after. I really want to give Garmins a go and this seemed my best option so would rather not have to send it back, not without trying it anyway
