Weather Data Field / API

Here is the design of the latest data field I'll develop over the next few days as I have time.

The Toybox.Weather API is nice, in theory. If you've played with that, does it work reasonably well? I assume it requires your smartphone to be in cell tower range, and Garmin Connect Mobile to be running and connected to your Garmin device?

There isn't a way to calculate the altitude of the weather reporting station, right? So an adjustment could be estimated for temp (say you are 3000 ft above the station's elevation).

I just ran my test app again. I'm sure the firmware is current and has been updated over the last 9 months, and observationLocationPosition is still showing my house.

That is a shame.. would really be nice to know how far away the data is from. I can code a workaround and if MY Location is very close to the Observation Location, ignore it as a bug... If further away, then assume the bug is fixed and display that insight.

Uhhh, the notes that I'm reading indicate that we determined there was a problem between the web service that aggregates and serves the weather data and the mobile device. Apparently the service doesn't record the observation position, so the mobile app 'synthesizes' it.

Unfortunately, I don't think this is one that is going to be fixed. The two issues (one for iOS, one for Android) have been closed, and no new issue was filed for the service to track that data.
