Is it possible to use the Garmin's keyboard?

Some Garmins (e.g. Oregon 7xx) have a virtual keyboards. Is there an input type in which the user can make an entry with the keyboard?

In CIQ you can use a Picker for text entry.

Ok, not the behavior I would have liked, but then that's how I do it.
