How to upload an app in Garmin China?

Currently, I have an account registered on the US Garmin site, and I am able to upload a beta app to the US Garmin Connect IQ store, after which the beta app is only visible to me.

Right now, I want to install this beta app on my device for the test. However, I merely have a watch already connected to another account registered in China.

AFAIK, the data in the US  and that in China are separated. I failed to find any entry to upload an app in Garmin CN.

So how to upload an app in China, or how to install a beta app on my device in China?

I have an account in China but I am unable to upload a beta app.

I am able to upload a beta app in the US CIQ but I have no device to install it.

It is just like a paradox.

As a Chinese user, I feel discriminated against.

  • If I'm not mistaken is that apps are copied through from us store towards the China store. I'm not Sure about the reason for the existence of the chinese store as eventually it'll have the same content.

The user accounts on the chinese store are indeed different so for beta apps this will be indeed a problem to download it with your chinese account.

A possible solution for beta apps could be to connect your garmin device with the us version of garmin connect (If you are able to do that).

  • connect your garmin device with the us version of garmin connect (If you are able to do that

Thanks, peterdedecker.  As your instruction, I need to reset my device and pair it with the US connect account. My test may last for quite a long time, during which my exercise will be interrupted. A beta version will be given up, and I will upload a release after fully testing instead.

There is likely a completely separate Chinese store because I would assume that Garmin gives the CCP backdoor access to their mainland-China based servers and databases, as any major tech company is compelled to do over there.

That wouldn't fly very smoothly with international privacy concerns, so they're best to separate them.

It definitely causes frustrations for those of us trying to capitalise on all markets, despite the fact that I do understand why it has to be done.

  • Go to apps,garmin.cn

You should find your apps there if they've synced over, but not sure how often that syncing happens..
