Are New Updates for existing Apps/DF etc now needs approval?

Have been seeing a new popup on the App Store page when a a new update is added to an existing app. It now says that there is an app update pending and may take up to 2 hours for approval?

Is this something new? All (existing) apps would now need to be approved by Garmin?

I think it's not necessarily a new approval process (I can't imagine a Garmin employee having to go over all app updates manually). I had noticed (even before the new notification was there) that when you updated an app it took some time before the new version became available. So I think the new message is there to explain for the caching (your new version is not available immediately, but it will be after a maximum of 2 hours).

Seconded. I have submitted a new version last night, ie Friday morning in American but it hasn't been approved till now. It is a little abnormal. Why
