white or black colour and burn display

https://developer.garmin.com/connect-iq/user-experience-guidelines/displays/

says:

  • Use a light on dark theme for better outdoor readability.
  • Use high contrast to make information pop when on screen.
  • Don’t depend on the display always remaining on

Is does mean that I can use white color (for example for background) and it won't be treated as burning?

Or I have to have black background in low power and I can have white background in high power?

  • There's a bug in the forum where pasting certain kinds of code or formatted text is treated as spam. I see it when I paste certain HTML (even from Garmin's own Connect IQ SDK docs) or certain kinds of complex code.

    Couple of solutions:

    - Try to post a simplified version of the text, without special chars or formatting. (In the case of formatted text, try pasting as plain text with CTRL-SHIFT-V or Edit > Paste as Text)

    - Wait for a mod to manually approve the post (this might take a few minutes)

I don't know exactly how the reputation thing works, but I assume it has something to do with the relative number of your comments that were liked by others. It could also relate to how often you post.

If I want to post a long snippet of code that triggers the forum, I just use pastebin.

  • You can also just paste things in line and not in a code block.

Maybe include "Grumble, grumble" after it! Slight smile

  • Sure, but some "code" still triggers the forum whether or not it's inline or in a code block. So it doesn't apply to this specific case, but there's def times I've had to resort to pastebin to paste certain code (especially javascript). I have a feeling that there's forum code which is trying to block certain kinds of js injection attacks, as opposed to just escaping everything properly.

In this context, by "code" I just meant code-as-text and not a literal code block. Although it does seem that text in code blocks is treated differently than text outside of code blocks as far as this bug goes. For example, if you edit a code block in a certain way, it can trigger this bug.

BTW, while I was typing my reply your post, it disappeared because you edited your post. Luckily the contents were saved, but it's so typical of this forum.

  • forum after upgrade run strange, I have lost postes, pages dont' redraw and more issues... now I'm a spammer Slight smile

  • hiding paging when bookmarks on screen for example

  • Yeah, I've noticed issues too. Like my reply-in-progress disappearing when the post I was replying to was edited. Pages not refreshing/loading, like you pointed out. The "More" menu not loading.

At one point the CIQ Store was broken for me when I was signed into the forums and the store. No matter what store URL I navigated to, it always showed me the front page. I think logging out of the forums fixed that one, and it never happened again.

  • press several time F5 or Ctrl+F5 (windows) and it run for some period Slight smile

  • today I was droped from 10 to 100 Slight smile
