[Feature request] Turn On/Off Bluetooth in Monkey C

To improve the user experience it should be possible to allow a mc app/widget to switch on Bluetooth only when its required to connect to e.g. small IOT devices.

There still is no API to do so. When a user e.g. wants to take alook into some IOT widget providing data from some temperature or humidity bluetooth sensor it is not expected that he has to press 5 buttons just to do so.

By app rights management restrictions it should be clear what could be the impact, e.g. improper use could disconnect the bluetooth connection to a mobile phone.

  • I think many users will already have blue tooth on, as it's used to sync, get notifications, etc.

CIQ has always been "look but don't touch" when it comes to device settings,

  • Garmin expects people to have BT on all the time.

Apps being able to turn it on and off would add another point of "failure" for support.

That is, if a customer calls to complain about BT not working, Garmin would have to worry about random apps.

IQ apps are considered enhancements that should effect the normal operation of the device (or change how the device works). That is, they are considered "icing on the cake".

It's not likely that Garmin will change this basic position.
