Is there a API that shows my active challenges? I'd like to have the current Challenges shown on a screen.

There is no ConnectIQ API for that information, but the Garmin Connect Web service most likely exposes that data. You'd have to request access to the developer program (https://developer.garmin.com/gc-developer-program/overview/) for more information.
