GPS Lat/Lon in a Data Field?

Does anyone know if it is possible to get the current LAT/LON inside a data field?

I tried this technique but the docs say only in apps and widgets. There must be a way...

Position.enableLocationEvents(Position.LOCATION_ONE_SHOT, method(:onPosition));

You already got it if the activity uses GPS.

In compute, info.currentLocation

be sure to null check.

There's also info.startLocation if you need that.

You need to simulate data or play back a .fit file with GPS info in the sim.

In the Eclipse simulator, currentLocation remains NULL. Even with GPS Quality = GOOD. Is that normal?

Ah! Possibly a bug - it returned NULL even after simulating data because I hadn't enabled the Positioning permission. Normally the IDE sends a warning about permissions not granted. THX!

Nope, not a bug. This was changed a while back so unless you have the permission set in the app, you get null. That way a user sees that permission is used in the app store.
