Guidance needed concerning Muscle Oxygen example in Simulation environment

Hi all,

I am new to the programming environment for Garmin device, and would really appreciate some guidance :p.

In particular, I have been looking at the MoxyField example in the Samples folder of the ConnectIQ SDK. I was able to load it in the simulator, and 'Searching ...' was displayed indefinitely. A closer examination of the source code indicated that it is looking for an MO2 sensor, which makes sense.

My question is whether it is possible to create a fit file which would allow me to observe muscle oxygen values in the simulated environment (Simulation>FIT data>Playback file). If so, are sample FIT files already available?

I don't mind creating my own FIT file, but I don't want to waste time if it is not going to work anyway.

Thanks for your help in advance!
  • Hi Eddie,

Replaying a FIT file in the simulator won't make data show up for Generic ANT channels like the Muscle Oxygen channel.

You can download the SimulANT simulator from the www.thisisant.com website and use a PC with an ANT dongle to simulate a Muscle Oxygen sensor or any other sensor that you wanted to interface with the generic ANT channel. In my experience, this works very well.

You might need to sign up as a developer to get access to SimulANT but I'm pretty sure that's free.
