How do I install Eclipse and so on to write my first watch app?

Downloaded and installed the SdkManager on my mac , instruction says "... and quit it". Next step is to use menu item Help to install Eclipse, clearly I need some program to run to install the Eclipse and do the dev stuff?

Also the "write your first program" guide assumes I have the development program installed, but never describes what is is called, so I don't know what I should google about.

I found some link to a Programmers Guide that looked promising, but the link was dead.

So I am embarrased to say; I have no clue how to install the basic developer programs needed to get started with the fun!

If you use the SDK Manager and download the 4.0.5 SDK (do not set it as "current") and look at the "Connect IQ Basics" doc in it, it's got instructions for eclipse.

hi, yes it is still possible, you could use https://archive.org/web/ to find the reference about eclipse.

Hi there - it seems like any reference to Eclipse has been removed - is it still possible to use Eclipse, I'm a big fan of it?

Thanks jim_m_58 - great stuff ! got IDE installed and got so far, hopefully this one's solvable:

( 16 minutes later - even more progress ! )

Here's the steps I took after installing Eclipse IDE for Java Developers ( arm64 version for MacBook M1 ) - hope this helps anyone else who is struggling.

(1) Add the repo shown below ( called it Repo_001 )
