I'm totally new to the Monkey C language and reading through all of the things like the "Programmer's Guide" online has helped me understand the language a little bit more. However I still have no idea how to do anything in regards to coding an app of my own. Does anyone have any recommendations on how I can learn to use Monkey C to make my own apps? I had in mind a text book of some kind with examples to work through possibly, or just how anyone learned how to make their first app. Really anything to get me making something would be great to have!
I would recommend downloading the ConnectIQ SDK and running through the sample apps. Change some settings and rebuild them to see what happens. Make lots of mistakes and learn from them
That's how I started just two weeks ago and - good timing here - I am submitting my first watch face tonight! (disclaimer: I have a solid, multi-lingual programming background).
And don't be afraid to come back here and ask away. I have found that in this forum folks are more helpful than in other programming forums.
Thanks HermoT. It would have taken me a lot longer without your guidance. Thanks for the final push! I think I'm ready to fly now; perhaps the other guy down there needs you more now (though don't be surprised if I come knocking )
