Could not find symbol 'getBatteryStatus'

Hi!

I'm just making my first steps into Connect IQ development, and I'm stumbling over an error. It's probably a typical newbie question, so maybe someone can help me out?

I created a project for a datafield. Now I'm trying to access AntPlus methods, but when running the app in the Connect IQ Device simulator, it gives me the error

Error: Symbol Not Found Error
Details: Could not find symbol 'getBatteryStatus'

This happens with every method I tested (AntPlus.getManufacturerInfo, AntPlus.getComponentIdentifiers()...).

I checked the ANT permmission in the manifest. My code includes:

using Toybox.AntPlus;
// ... sample coding:
var batteryStatus = AntPlus.getBatteryStatus(null);
var componentList = AntPlus.getComponentIdentifiers();

What am i doing wrong? Thanks!

You cannot use it like that, you need device object first, eg.

var myDevice = new AntPlus.BikeSpeed(null);
var batteryStatus = myDevice.getBatteryStatus(null);

Which device, as this is only available on devices with CIQ 2.2.0 or greater?

Sorry, i forgot to mention this. I'm using a Fenix 6 and chose as target SDK version 3.2.x.

thanks a lot for the clarification! I checked the link you sent and it is very helpful!
Testing the code in the Device Simulator does not seem to be possible, so I guess I'll have to use the sideloading approach to get my data. Thanks again!

Right, you'd need Ant+ USB dongle to test on simulator. If you plan to do more development, it's worth to get one. To be able to test on simulator makes it much faster and convenient.
