.switchToView : Are documents wrong or am I doing something wrong?

Hi,

Switch to view is listed as since CIQ1.0.0, however, whenever I use it in simulator with FR230, I get "Native base view is not supported" error. If I use pushView, everything is fine.

Clearly something that I should know about that I don't know about!

Any pointers?

The error message and the API doc says it all if a native view is involved.It can only be done of devices with 3.1 or newer.

Prior to ConnectIQ 3.1, this method only supported switching to user-defined…

(As a secondary question, is there a good way to pop all the way back down a menu to return to the app if I am down some rabbit warren of nested menus?)

If you really want to do this, you have to keep track of how many pops are necessary and call popView the appropriate number of times.

Do I need to code that count? I would’ve thought the view stack represents the depth in the menu and it ought to be possible to read the number, but I haven’t found it exposed anywhere.

Yes, when I said "you have to keep track of", I literally meant you have to write some code to track this data.

Yes, it is a stack, but we don't expose data about that stack or any information about it via the API. This is why you have to track it yourself.
