Anyone looking at connections with fitness equipment such as concept 2 rower?

I really want to be able to connect to fitness equipment such as the pm4 on the concept 2 rower. This functionality was there in the 910xt. Or can someone point me in the right direction on where to start and I can use it as a learning project for my new programming interest.

The PM4 supports ANT+FE profile (obtain the spec from www.thisisant.com) and also a proprietary Concept2 protocol which is a significant extension of the ANT+FE profile. That proprietary protocol requires a NDA with Concept2 and seems to be pretty easy to get one from them. (The 910 didn't know anything about the proprietary protocol so only useful if you want to do more)

I have a PM3 on my rower so no Ant+ but would be interested if you make progress. Supposedly the PM5 will add Ant+ support but I think they are prioritizing BLE for now

My PM5 works just fine with my Garmin 70 and my Garmin 610.
I cannot connect to a wahoo fitness application though....
    if that helps....
  • I would love to sync my vivoactive with the Concept2. Right now I don't think it can??
  • The Concept 2 Logbook now syncs with Garmin Connect and will pass all the relevant info. I do not believe that it currently updates the PhysioTrueUp stats. You can use Concepts own Erg app and connect to PM3&4 units with a cable available from LiveRowing. You can connect via Bluetooth with a PM5 unit. The PM5 units also supports a variety of ANT+ protocols thought they are fairly useless for the rower since they don't link the Indoor Rower app on the 935. The BIkeErg, on the other hand, will connect as a speed/cadence sensor to the 935 through ANT if you disable the Bluetooth connectivity. The proviso is this: the "wheel size" is some outrageous figure and has to be manually adjusted down in order to get a reasonable mileage reading. I set it at 16mm/15mm (about 70%/30%) and the mileage on the watch matches up to the PM5 unit. No power info but if you connect the HRM to the PM5 (ANT+) you get pretty much the same stats. ErgIQ will move all the info to the watch but cannot seem to pass it through and it ends up in the Connect IQ information second which doesn't update the numbers -  also, mine shows as rowing for row work but "fitness equipment" for BikeErg.
