Which is it, Garmin? When is 240 not 240?

According to all the best sources, such as this: https://developer.garmin.com/connect-iq/compatible-devices/ or the sdk JSON configuration files... The Venu Sq and Venu Sq Music are in the rectangle-240x240 family with a screen size of 240x240.

So why is it that, in the simulator, for my DataField, I see this:

Why is the screen 220 pixels across?

FYI : I have verified in Watch Face and the dc.getWidth() correctly returns 240 for WatchFace and App, it is just in DataField that it is shrunk by 20 pixels.

This is the correct behavior. The native activity apps reserve 10px on each side of the screen, and the data fields are required to fit into this reduced area.

I believe this space is reserved to show page indicators and button information (like a green bar next to the top button for start/stop).

In some ways this is similar to what you can see on edge touch devices, where in full screen, the size of the dc is different than the physical screen.

Here, the white shows the size of the dc, while the pink, the physical screen, (Sys.getDeviceSettings().screenWidth,Sys.getDeviceSettings().screenHeight), with the difference being the space used by the on screen button bar.
