Send/Receive Wirelessly (BT,Ant2) App Integration

Hi All,

I don't have access to any other Developer Forum than this so i have to write my post here, sorry for that.

I want to send data using "Send/Receive Wirelessly using ANT+ or Bluetooth" to my device using a Smartphone App.

All i know is that antFS is used to do that but all my tests were unsuccessfull.

Is there any documentation about that?

(I want to send Tracks and Waypoints to my GPSMAP276CX and would write an Android App to achieve that)

You won't find that.

I think that device can upload tracks wirelessly but that's it.

While it should be possible to do that to a phone, you'll have to reverse-engineer it since Garmin provides…

Have you looked at makeWebRequest and the options

You’d have to use IQ anyway.

There the gimporter IQ app and it’s android companion app that lets you transfer gpx files to your device (tracks not waypoints).

There’s no way of transferring files from the device.

Not the answer you want but the only one you are going to get.

I'am unable to use IQ since that device doesn't support Connect IQ.

What i'am looking for is a way to implement that on "every" non-android based Garmin device that supports "send/receive- wirelessly" option to send and receive data from other Garmin devices.

You won't find that.

While it should be possible to do that to a phone, you'll have to reverse-engineer it since Garmin provides no information about how they do it.

The newer Edges can transfer courses to other Edge units but it's just courses. And Garmin provides no information about how that works either.

It's not even clear that Garmin is using AntFS to do the transfers (poking around, it appears they might not be).

Note that what one can do in IQ is very limited too. It doesn't support AntFS (that is, IQ developers can't use it).

mhm ok very bad. i thought Garmin is a vendor for professional devices and that would include implementation guidelines for own infrastructure. how bad...

btw it is ant-fs, thats what i can approve, i'am able to receive something from the device using the 'send wirelessly' option but its garbage i receive. so it is either encrypted or i did it wrong but i will write here if i manage it to do

It looks like that device might be able to do device to device transfers but there isn't much info about it.

You might also be assuming whatever you transferred would be in a particular format. If so, what were you expecting?
