Hello, my name is Garrett and I have an idea I’d like to share, I have submitted an idea for Garmin, but would also like to start a discussion about it, to see if anyone else here could also benefit from this idea. About me, I have only had my Garmin watch for 6 months and I absolutely love it, and cannot live without it. I like to track my activities, my heart rate, calorie rates, etc. I am currently serving in the Army as a Military Working Dog handler, and have just recently deployed to one of the hottest environments in the world. Out here, in this heat, these dogs face a new environment They’ve never experienced before, and they all experience the heat differently, wether negatively or positively. Unfortunately for my dog in particular, he does not tend well to the heat, and when we work outside, his body temperature can exceed over 106F degrees. Which is high for a dog. When I look at the Garmin watch on my wrist, I then think how amazing it would be, if somehow, we could create a device similar to a Garmin watch for humans, for dogs. This device could track a dogs respirations, heart rate, body temperature, etc. I believe the benefit of having this device could warn handlers, or dog owners in general, of when a dog could be reaching the point of heat exhaustion, or other general health issues; In turn, saving more dog’s lives. Please feel free to comment more ideas that could be related to this topic, or additional features this product could have.
